It is one of the questions we get most: “my collection is on Pokémon TCG Live, can I bring it over?”. The short answer is that the collection cannot, but decks can. Neither Pokémon TCG Live nor Pokémon TCG Pocket has a button to export all your cards. Live does copy any deck as text, and TCGJoin understands that text. Pocket exports nothing, and its cards are digital anyway.
One thing worth being clear about: TCGJoin tracks your collection of physical cards. Pasting a Live deck makes sense if you also own that deck on paper, or to log it in one go instead of scanning 60 cards.
What you need
- Pokémon TCG Live with the deck you want to bring over.
- A TCGJoin account (the free one is fine).
- Your phone at hand to scan whatever is not in any deck.
Get the list out of Pokémon TCG Live
- In Pokémon TCG Live go to Decks and pick the deck.
- Tap Export: the list is copied to the clipboard (“Deck copied to clipboard”).
- On TCGJoin, open the wizard, choose “Paste a list” and paste the text as is.
Each line carries quantity, name, set code and number (“2 Blissey V CRE 119”), so most cards are identified with their exact printing. Some promos show up in Live with an in-game numbering and may come out as not found; basic Energy goes in without trouble.
TCG Pocket exports neither the collection nor decks, and its sets are digital: most of those cards do not exist on paper. For Pocket there is nothing to import.
Upload it to TCGJoin
With the file at hand, open your collection and tap “Import”. The same wizard lives in Profile › Settings › “Import my collection”. It takes four steps:
- Source: pick “Paste a list”.
- List: paste the text copied from Live, one card per line. “4x Card name” works too.
- Review: every row lands in a group. Found (matched with no doubt by set and number), unsure (several printings share that name: pick one or accept the suggestion), not found, and skipped (proxies, quantity 0 or a game outside your plan).
- Import: choose whether to add to what you already have or keep the file quantity, and hit the button.
If something looks off, the import can be undone for 7 days, from the final screen or from Profile › Settings. It removes exactly the copies it added and leaves what you already owned untouched.
What comes across and what does not
From a Live list the importer uses the card (by set and number) and the quantity. Live does not say which language your physical cards are in: if yours are in another language, check it in the collection. The rest:
- Comes across: the exact card (set and number when the file has them), the quantity and the language of each copy.
- Not yet: condition (NM, LP…), foil and purchase price. Copies arrive as non-foil; keep the original file if you care about those details.
- Common plan: one active game. If the file mixes games, cards from the others are skipped and the review tells you which. Importing is free on every plan.
- Nothing you already had is overwritten: by default quantities are added.
If something is not found
“Not found” rows are the ones that do not match the catalogue with the data in the file: almost always promos with Live’s internal numbering or cards that only exist in the digital game. In the review, tap “Download the not found rows (CSV)” to keep the list. Then run them through the Pokémon card scanner: point the camera and they go into the collection one by one, with their exact printing. If it is your first time, the guide on how to scan cards with your phone covers it in two minutes.
If a whole column is the problem (the review flags the columns it did not understand), tell us from the suggestions box in the help bubble and we will add it.
Between decks and the scanner, your collection ends up complete and valued in euros, and the page of every Pokémon set tells you what you are missing. Everything else Pokémon is in the Pokémon hub, and if you are coming from another app with your physical collection, see Import collection.
