Riot has unveiled Radiance, Riftbound's fifth set, and opened the draw for booster displays on its official store. Players across Europe can enter until September 30 at 6 pm CEST.

Riot Games unveiled Radiance, the fifth set for Riftbound, the League of Legends trading card game, on September 25. It goes on sale October 23 and, according to Riot's press release, it is the first set to launch simultaneously in three languages: English, French and Simplified Chinese. For players in Europe, though, the most pressing date is much closer: the draw for booster displays on Riot's official store closes on September 30.

The booster display draw ends September 30

As with earlier sets, the Riot Games Merch Store is not selling Radiance first come, first served. Instead it runs a draw open to players in North America and Europe. Entries are accepted from September 25 until September 30 at 9:00 am Pacific time, which is 6 pm in Paris, Berlin, Rome and Madrid, and 5 pm in London.

  • The draw takes place on October 5. Winners receive an email with a purchase link and have 24 hours to check out.
  • Each winner can buy one Radiance Booster Display, priced at €127.99 plus shipping in Europe ($119.99 in the US).
  • If a winner does not buy in time, Riot draws another name, so keep an eye on your spam folder.
  • Orders ship from October 23, release day.

The official drawing FAQ also lists a euro price for the Evelynn vs. Seraphine Showdown Decks: €36.99. Riot has not set shelf prices for local game stores, which price the set themselves.

What Radiance brings

The set adds nine new Legends, among them K'Sante, Orianna and Ekko, plus three new keywords: Deploy (gear can be played straight onto a battlefield), Show Off (a bonus effect when you reveal a qualifying card) and Disarm (lowers the Might of an enemy unit on the same battlefield). Equipment Units and Bomb tokens also debut, as does Neeko, the game's first neutral-domain champion unit.

For collectors, Riot confirms overnumbered versions of all nine Legends, Heartsteel overnumbers with a signature variant, music-themed alt art Runes and the second Ultimate Rare in Riftbound's history, found in fewer than 0.025% of packs.

Key dates before launch

  • Until October 9: card preview season.
  • October 16-22: Pre-Rift events at local game stores, with a kit of five boosters and a seeded pack for each Legend.
  • October 23: worldwide release.

Our advice for collectors anywhere in Europe: enter the draw before it closes even if you have a preorder at your local store, since winning does not commit you to buy, and ask your store about Pre-Rift seats now. Once the set is out you can follow it in TCGJoin's Riftbound section and log what you pull in your collection.
