Riftbound players in Europe can start blocking out a weekend in February. On September 23, Riot Games posted the first venues of its 2027 competitive circuit on playriftbound.com, and the event that opens the calendar is in Spain: Riftbound Regional Madrid, running February 5-7, 2027 at IFEMA Madrid.
Riot is upfront that this is an early look. The full picture of next year's premier play is not finished yet, but the team wanted the early-2027 dates out as soon as possible so players can plan travel.
The three confirmed events
- Regional Madrid: February 5-7, 2027, IFEMA Madrid (Spain).
- Regional Philadelphia: February 12-14, 2027, Pennsylvania Convention Center (USA).
- Continental Dallas: March 26-28, 2027, Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center (USA).
A fourth stop is still missing: Riot says one more Regional will land in Oceania during the same season and will be added once the venue and dates are locked. All three confirmed events belong to the Legacy season, named after the game's sixth set.
How Regionals and Continentals work
Regionals are three-day events with two badge types: Competitor, which gets you into the main event, and Attendee, aimed at side events and on-site activities. According to Riot, main-event players compete for foil plated Legends and invitations to the Continental.
The Dallas Continental also runs three days, but day one is an open-entry qualifier for anyone who does not have an invite yet; the main event starts on Saturday. Riot has not yet shared badge prices, registration dates or the prize breakdown, and says a deeper dive into what is changing in organized play will follow in the next few months.
What it means for players in Spain and Latin America
This is Riftbound's second major stop in Spain in under six months, after the Barcelona Regional Qualifier in August, and a clear sign that Riot sees Spain as a key market. Anyone aiming for Madrid has a busy run-up: Set 5, Radiance, starts previewing on September 25 at the final 2026 Regional Qualifier in Los Angeles and hits shelves on October 23 in every region.
